Seasoned portfolio manager Peter Ewins is slated to retire in June 2024, passing the stewardship of the Global Smaller Companies trust to Nish Patel.

From 1st January 2024 Nish Patel will step into the role of joint lead fund manager alongside Ewins, gradually assuming full responsibility as the lead fund manager from 1st May 2024.  Like Ewins, Patel became part of Columbia Threadneedle through the 2021 acquisition of BMO GAM, having previously been associated with BMO since 2007.

Ewins association with BMO and its predecessor entities dates back to 1996.  Over the past 26 years, Ewins has played a pivotal role in the management of Global Smaller Companies, assuming the lead manager position in August 2005.
